Key takeaways
- Entry autopilot plans cluster around $99/month for 25 to 30 articles, which is roughly $2.60 to $4 per published page before any editing.
- Suites like Semrush and Ahrefs, and optimizers like Surfer, have no per-page price. Their cost per page depends on how much you publish and how much human work sits around them.
- Human review is the biggest hidden cost. One autopilot vendor's human-edited tier is $1,399/month, which is more than 14 times its base plan.
- Divide by pages you actually publish, not the plan's article cap. The cap gives you the best case only.
- If AI search visibility matters, you need a measurement layer on top of the publishing tool. Most autopilot tools don't have one.
Why price per page beats price per month
Monthly pricing is how vendors sell. Price per page is how you should buy.
A $99 plan that ships 30 articles and a $99 plan that ships 5 are not the same product. A $25 tool that only produces briefs doesn't publish anything. Comparing sticker prices across these categories is like comparing a bag of flour to a loaf of bread.
So I've used one formula throughout this guide:
cost per published page = (monthly plan + add-ons + review time + supporting tools) / pages actually published
Most of the tools below only let me fill in the first two terms with real numbers. I'll flag where the rest is on you.
One caveat before the numbers. Several of the sources I used are vendor-published, and vendors tend to rank themselves first. Pricing was pulled from the vendors' own pages or from third-party roundups, and plans change often. Confirm anything you're about to pay for.

The first five rows are where per-page math actually works. The rest are tools you pair with a writer, which is a different calculation.
Autopilot tools: the per-article price is the real number
These tools take a keyword or a site URL and ship articles to your CMS. They're priced per article cap, so the math is simple. The surprise is how tightly they cluster.
TheSEOAgent
TheSEOAgent charges $99/month for 30 articles on one site, with extra sites at $79/month. That works out to about $3.30 per article, or about $2.63 on additional sites. The trial is $1 for three days. It positions itself as covering the full loop: research, a draft with claims checked against sources, and native CMS publishing.

Two honest notes. TheSEOAgent publishes the roundup that ranks it first, so treat that ranking as marketing. And by its own description, technical fixes, updates to older posts and white-label reporting are separate jobs it doesn't do.

Outrank
Outrank has one "Organic Growth" plan at $99/month, or $999/year (about $83.25/month). It includes 30 articles, automated keyword research, automated backlink building, AI images and unlimited users. Integrations cover WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Framer, Notion, Ghost and custom webhooks.
The interesting part is volume pricing. Add 60 articles for $85/month and the math is ($99 + $85) / 60, about $3.07 each. Add 90 for $160 and it's ($99 + $160) / 90, about $2.88. Annual billing alone gets you to $999 / 360, about $2.78.
Watch the add-ons, though. Backlink Premium is $199/month and Free Tools Builder is $99/month. According to TheSEOAgent's comparison page (a competitor, so verify it), trial articles carry a watermark and a human-reviewed tier costs $1,399/month.
RankYak
RankYak is $99/month per site, or $82.50/month billed yearly, for up to 30 articles, one per day. It has a three-day free trial. At yearly billing that's about $2.75 per article.
BabyLoveGrowth
BabyLoveGrowth is the cheapest in this group on paper: $49/month billed yearly ($99 monthly) for 30 articles on full autopilot. That's about $1.63 per article if you commit for the year. I'd be cautious here. Cheap per-page prices tell you nothing about quality, and I found no independent evidence on how any of these autopilot tools rank.
Byword
Byword is $99/month for 25 articles, about $3.96 each. It's built for bulk programmatic SEO from keyword lists, so it's a different use case from a daily-blog autopilot.
RightBlogger and KoalaWriter
RightBlogger starts at $49/month with unlimited articles on every tier. "Unlimited" usually has a fair-use ceiling, so read the terms before you assume your cost per page is near zero.
KoalaWriter starts at $25/month ($20 billed yearly) for 45,000 words. It meters words, not articles, which means a 3,000-word guide eats six times the quota of a 500-word post. The Content Calendar Autopilot starts on the Boost plan at $99/month ($79 yearly), and the cheapest plans don't include scheduled auto-publishing.
One more snippet I came across, from a third-party Outrank review, listed an unnamed tool at $19/month for 5 articles, $49 for 15, $99 for 40 with auto-publish, and $179 for 100. That last tier is about $1.79 per article. I couldn't confirm the tool's name, so I've left it out of the table. If you find it, verify before trusting it.
Suites and optimizers: no per-page price, by design
These tools don't publish pages. They help you decide what to write, or how to improve it. Their cost per page is whatever you decide it is.
Semrush and Ahrefs
Semrush runs Pro at $139.95/month, Guru at $249.95 and Business at $499.95, all billed annually. Monthly billing adds about 17%. Ahrefs sits at Lite $129/month, Standard $249 and Advanced $449.

Both will flag problems at scale. Neither will fix them. As one comparison put it, Semrush tells you and you do it. If you publish 20 pages a month, a $140 Semrush plan adds $7 per page. If you publish 200 pages a month, it adds 70 cents. The same tool is cheap or expensive depending on your volume.
Search Atlas, Surfer, Frase and Nightwatch
Per a Fimo.ai comparison, Search Atlas OTTO starts around $99/month and auto-applies technical and on-page fixes through a site script. Surfer is around $99/month for on-page scoring and briefs, and a human applies every change. Frase is around $45/month for briefs and generation. Nightwatch is around $39/month and is strong on tracking, not on making changes.

These are rough starting figures from a third-party table, not quotes from the vendors' own pricing pages. I couldn't capture current prices for Surfer, Frase, Search Atlas, Clearscope, MarketMuse, Jasper or Writesonic directly, so check those before budgeting.
NeuronWriter
NeuronWriter is under $25/month for the brief-and-draft step, which makes it the cheapest serious optimizer here. It doesn't publish for you.

Sight AI
Sight AI combines AI-visibility tracking with 13+ content agents and IndexNow submission. There's no public price, and cost scales with credits. That makes it impossible to compute a per-page figure without a quote.
Clearscope and MarketMuse
Both show up in the TheSEOAgent roundup (Clearscope for enterprise content scoring, MarketMuse for topical-cluster planning), but I didn't capture prices. Both are generally priced for teams, not solo publishers, so expect them to sit above the budget tools here.

The hidden costs that change the math
The cap-based number is a best case. Here's what pushes the real figure up.
Human review
This is the big one. A $99 plan that publishes unreviewed drafts is cheap. Paying someone to fact-check, edit and add original insight is not. If an editor spends 30 minutes per article at $40/hour, that's $20 per page, which dwarfs the $3.30 software cost. Outrank's human-edited tier at $1,399/month for the same 30 articles works out to roughly $46 per page.
Most teams I'd trust land somewhere in between: auto-generate the draft, review it fast, rewrite the intro and conclusion by hand.
Add-ons and extra sites
Backlinks, extra volume and extra sites are all charged separately. A $99 headline can become $300 once you add backlink building. That changes the per-page figure from $3.30 to $10.
Word-metered credits
KoalaWriter-style word quotas make cost per page depend on article length. Two products with identical monthly prices can differ by a factor of three in what you get.
Billing cycle
Annual billing saves roughly 15% to 50% depending on the vendor. Semrush's monthly surcharge is about 17%. Choosing monthly because it feels safe costs real money.
Supporting tools
An autopilot tool rarely covers everything. Budget for rank tracking, a technical crawler, and possibly a separate research tool. One roundup suggests a stack of NeuronWriter under $25 plus AlsoAsked (free tier available) for the research slice, though that stack only covers brief and draft, not publishing.
Worked examples
| Scenario | Monthly spend | Pages published | Cost per page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outrank base, annual | $83.25 | 30 | $2.78 |
| Outrank + 90-article add-on | $259 | 90 | $2.88 |
| TheSEOAgent, first site | $99 | 30 | $3.30 |
| Byword | $99 | 25 | $3.96 |
| Autopilot ($99) + 30 min editing at $40/hr | $99 + $600 | 30 | ~$23.30 |
| Semrush Pro + NeuronWriter + in-house writers (20 pages) | ~$165 + labor | 20 | $8+ before labor |
| Outrank human-edited tier | $1,399 | 30 | ~$46.60 |
The pattern is clear. Software is the small number. Everything wrapped around it decides what you actually pay.
How to choose
If you want volume at the lowest price
Pick an annual autopilot plan from Outrank, RankYak or BabyLoveGrowth, and budget time for review. Check CMS output on the trial before enabling auto-publish. Several tools offer $1 or free trials with watermarks, so inspect the formatting first.
If you publish fewer, better pages
Skip the autopilot. Pair a cheap optimizer such as NeuronWriter or Frase with your own writers. The software cost per page will be higher in theory, but you're paying for quality, not output.
If you already have a content team
A suite like Semrush or Ahrefs makes sense, because the per-page overhead shrinks as volume grows.
If AI search matters to you
Publishing pages is only half the job. You still need to know whether those pages get crawled, cited or clicked by ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews. Most autopilot tools stop at publishing. A platform like Promptwatch can track citations and AI crawler activity for the pages you ship, and its Content Agent can plan and publish to Webflow, Framer or WordPress if you want to consolidate. Plans start at $95/month, and its Business plan includes the automated Content Agent; check promptwatch.com/pricing for current details.

For context on why this matters, Promptwatch's data shows that product pages are the most cited content type in ChatGPT at 22.4% of citations (Sep 28 to Oct 4, 2026), and that landing pages and docs stay cited longest while news loses half its pages within 36 days. A pile of cheap blog posts won't necessarily land where AI answers are drawn from. If you want to compare measurement tools, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com is a good place to start.
Gaps in this comparison
I'd rather be upfront than pretend this is complete.
- No independent evidence on ranking results for any of the autopilot tools. Price per page says nothing about traffic per page.
- Several prices come from third-party roundups, not the vendors' own pages.
- Clearscope, MarketMuse, Jasper, Writesonic and AlsoAsked weren't priced.
- Generic cost guides quote ranges from under $30 to $500+ per month for SEO software, and one vendor guide claims a full stack can reach $1,500 to $2,000 per month once you add schema, content optimization, rank tracking and citation monitoring. Treat that as a ceiling for large e-commerce stacks, not a typical figure.

Bottom line
At $99 for 25 to 30 articles, autopilot tools cost about $2.60 to $4 per page, falling toward $2.80 with annual billing or volume add-ons. That's the floor. Add real editing and the number is closer to $20 per page, and it's the editing that determines whether the pages are worth publishing. Pick the tool on price if you must, but set your budget on review time.
