Key takeaways
- Ranketta has four self-serve tiers: Tracker (EUR 29), Starter (EUR 79), Growth (EUR 199) and Scale (EUR 449), plus a custom Enterprise plan. Yearly billing is advertised as two months free.
- The cheapest tier is monitoring only. Merchandising (product title and description optimization) and credits start at Starter.
- Prompts are counted per model, so the headline number understates how many prompt runs you get.
- If you only want cheap monitoring, Otterly and a few budget tools undercut it. If you want crawler logs, content creation and traffic attribution, you need something deeper.
- Most price comparisons online come from vendor blogs, including Ranketta's own. Check every number on the vendor's pricing page before you buy.
What Ranketta is built for
Ranketta positions itself around online stores and D2C brands. The pitch is product-level AI visibility: how ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and other engines recommend your SKUs, plus feed enrichment so shopping answers describe your products correctly. One third-party review summarized it as ecommerce SKU-level shopping visibility, and that is a fair reading of the product.
That focus matters for pricing. If you run a Shopify store with 400 products, the Merchandising features in Starter and above are the point. If you are a B2B SaaS company, a lot of what you pay for is not aimed at you.
There are separate Brands and Agencies tabs on the pricing page. This guide covers the Online Stores tab, which is the one I could verify.

What the cheap tier actually gets you
Tracker at EUR 29 gives you two models, chosen from Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. One website, one country. It is a monitoring plan and nothing else. No merchandising, no credits.
Starter and above can also pick from Amazon Alexa, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Grok and Meta Muse, which the pricing page labels Premium. The page I could see was cut off, so I can't tell you whether Premium models cost extra or are simply gated to higher tiers. Ask before you assume.
The prompt count trap
Ranketta counts prompts per model. Tracker's 30 prompts across 2 models is 60 prompt runs. That is a better deal than it looks, and it also means you can't compare it one-to-one with tools that quote a flat prompt number.
There is a conflict worth knowing about. Ranketta's own August 2026 blog table lists Tracker as 25 prompts and 2 models. The live pricing page says 30 per model. Treat the pricing page as current.
There is a second reason prompt counts are a shaky unit. Promptwatch Data's ChatGPT query fanouts report shows that the prompt a user types is not what ChatGPT searches. Average fanouts per response fell from 2.15 in early December to about 1.84 by early March, and average query length dropped from about 117 characters to the high 80s. Tools that bill per prompt per model are measuring the user prompt, not the searches behind it. So when you compare tiers, compare what you can learn from the answers, not just how many you can run.
Where the upgrade pressure sits
Three limits push people up the ladder:
- Countries. One country on Tracker and Starter, three on Growth. Multi-market stores hit this fast.
- Websites. One site until Growth. Agencies and multi-brand owners hit this early.
- Credits. Starter's 5k monthly credits fund merchandising work. If you optimize a large catalog, you will burn through them.
Starter at EUR 79 is the first tier where Ranketta does something besides report. For most stores, that is the real entry price.
How Ranketta compares on entry price
Ranketta's own comparison, dated 10 August 2026, is the most detailed public side-by-side. It is a vendor source with an obvious incentive, and some currency labels conflict across sources (Otterly shows as EUR 29 on Ranketta's blog and $29 on Tim Soulo's). Treat these as starting points.
| Tool | Cheapest self-serve tier | Prompts | Engines at that tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ranketta | EUR 29 (Tracker) | 30 per model | 2 of 5 to 8 |
| Otterly AI | $29 (Lite) | 15 | 4 |
| AthenaHQ | Free (Essential, 300 credits) | Credit-based | 5 |
| Peec AI | EUR 85 / $95 (Starter) | 50 | 3 |
| Profound | $99 (Starter) | 50 | 1 (ChatGPT only) |
| Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit | $99 | 25 | 4 |
| Ahrefs Brand Radar | $199 per AI index | Pre-built index, no custom prompts | 1 |
| MentionBird | $79 (Starter) | 100 | 2 |
Two things stand out. First, Ranketta's Tracker is genuinely competitive at the bottom. Second, nobody's entry tier gives you everything, and each vendor cuts a different corner to reach its number.
Cheaper alternatives
If all you need is to see whether your brand shows up, you do not need to spend EUR 79.
Otterly.AI

Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot. Standard is $189 and Premium $489, with 15% off annual billing. Fewer prompts than Ranketta Tracker, but four engines out of the box. It is a clean monitoring product and little more.
AthenaHQ
The free Essential tier gives 300 credits across five engines, at one credit per AI response. Ranketta's own math says tracking one prompt daily across five engines eats roughly 150 credits a month, so the free tier covers about two prompts at that cadence. Useful as a trial, thin as a plan.
Budget options in the wider market
The market is crowded with low-cost trackers. A few worth a look if price is the main filter: [tool:airefs]

For a longer list, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com and the rank tracking directory at ai-rank-tools.com are good places to filter by budget.
Deeper alternatives
The cheap tools answer one question: was my brand mentioned. If you are paying EUR 199 or more, you should expect answers to harder ones. Which pages does AI cite? Are AI crawlers even reaching my site? Does any of this send traffic that converts?
Promptwatch
Promptwatch is the option I would look at first when the goal is to do something about visibility, not just watch it. It is an end-to-end platform: it monitors ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot and others using the real interfaces, traces which pages and third-party sources get cited, then acts through the Action Board and the Content Agent, which writes and publishes to WordPress, Webflow or Framer. IP-verified AI crawler logs and visitor analytics close the loop, so you can see whether a published page was crawled, cited and clicked.

For an online store, it also covers ChatGPT Shopping visibility, so the overlap with Ranketta's core use case is real. The difference is breadth: crawler logs, Reddit and YouTube citation tracking, Brand Narrative and Fact Check, and Search Console data next to AI data.
Pricing, verified against promptwatch.com/pricing before you buy: Essential $95/mo (50 prompts, 1 project), Professional $245/mo (150 prompts, crawler logs, 5 AEO articles), Business $579/mo (350 prompts, the Content Agent, Shopping insights, Ads Radar, faster-than-daily tracking). Annual billing is 12 months for the price of 10. Agencies get Kick-off $199, Growth $399 and Scale $799. All plans include unlimited team seats, all AI models and MCP and API access. There is a 7-day free trial and a free AI visibility report if you want a look first.
Note what that means against Ranketta: Promptwatch's Essential costs more than Ranketta Tracker, and crawler logs start at Professional. If you only want a cheap scoreboard, Promptwatch is not the cheapest route. If you want the work done and checked, it is.
Profound
Profound Starter is $99 and covers ChatGPT only. Perplexity plus Google AI Overviews reportedly jumps to $399, and Growth is capped at 100 prompts and 3 seats. Strong monitoring and real-user prompt volume data, but expensive per engine. See Promptwatch vs Profound for a head-to-head.
Ahrefs Brand Radar

The odd one out. It uses a pre-built index of real search-derived prompts instead of prompts you write, with plans from $50 (2,500 checks) up to $699 for all six AI indexes plus 2,500 custom prompt checks. Good if you already live in Ahrefs. Less good if you want to track your exact buyer questions.
Semrush and Peec
Semrush's AI toolkit starts at $99 for 25 prompts across four engines and makes sense if the rest of your SEO already runs there. Peec AI Starter is EUR 85 (listed as $95 elsewhere, probably a currency difference) for 50 prompts and three models, with a fourth model costing extra.
Dageno AI
Dageno positions itself as the cross-industry alternative to Ranketta, connecting monitoring, strategy, content generation and attribution. Worth noting that its comparison page ranks itself first, so weigh it accordingly.

Which one fits which buyer
| If you are... | Look at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A small store testing the waters | Ranketta Tracker, Otterly Lite | Cheapest honest entry |
| An online store optimizing a catalog | Ranketta Starter or Growth | Merchandising and feed work is the product |
| A store that also needs traffic and crawler data | Promptwatch Professional or Business | Crawler logs, attribution, Shopping insights |
| A B2B or SaaS brand | Promptwatch, Peec, Profound | Ranketta's ecommerce focus buys you little |
| An SEO team already in Ahrefs or Semrush | Brand Radar, Semrush toolkit | Stay in one suite |
| An agency | Promptwatch agency plans, Ranketta Agencies tab | Unlimited projects, pitch projects |
How to check a quote before you pay
- Count prompt runs, not prompts. Multiply by models, and by countries if the tool bills that way.
- Ask which models are Premium. Some tools gate the engines your buyers actually use.
- Check countries and sites. A one-country plan is useless for a three-market store.
- Look for what is missing. Crawler logs, traffic attribution and content tools are the usual cuts at the cheap end.
- Confirm currency. EUR and USD figures get swapped constantly across review sites.
- Trust the vendor page over any blog, mine included.
The short version
Ranketta is a fair price if you run an online store and will use the merchandising features. Tracker is a competitive scoreboard, Starter is where the product starts to earn its keep, and Growth and Scale are about countries and catalog size. If you only need to know whether you are mentioned, Otterly is cheaper in practice. If you need to know why, and want the fixes shipped and measured, budget for a platform like Promptwatch and use the free trial to see whether the extra spend pays back.
