Key takeaways
- For brands, Profound's pricing page now shows two options: a free 7-day Trial and a custom-priced Enterprise plan. There is no published brand price in between.
- The $99 Starter and $399 Growth brand plans that many reviews still quote were reportedly withdrawn in mid-September 2026. The $99 that remains is the Agency Growth base fee.
- Agency Growth costs $99/month plus $399/month per full client workspace, so one client is $498/month and five clients is $2,094/month before taxes or extra usage.
- Enterprise has no list price. One competing vendor estimates $2,000 to $5,000+ per month, which is a rough anchor and not a quote.
- Treat the real cost as the subscription plus the people or tools needed to act on the data.
Why Profound pricing is confusing right now
If you searched for Profound's price in the last few months, you probably got conflicting answers. That is not your imagination. The pricing page has changed shape several times in 2026, and a lot of reviews and AI answers are describing a version that no longer exists.
The sequence, as reported by third-party trackers and archived copies of the page: before June 2026 the page showed a tier matrix with no dollar amounts. On June 11, prices appeared for self-serve brand plans, Starter at $99 and Growth at $399. An archived copy from September 14 still lists both. Profound then announced a $180 million Series D on September 15 and repositioned the product around an "AI Marketer." Within days, the brand tab showed only Trial and Enterprise.
One caveat before going further. Several of the sources I used are competing vendors (ZeroRank, Maintouch, Otterly.AI), so their numbers deserve a check against Profound's own page. Where a figure comes from Profound's page, I say so. Where it comes from a rival, I say that too. Confirm everything at tryprofound.com/pricing before you budget.

Profound plans at a glance
| Plan | Price | Key limits | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial (brands) | Free | 50 prompts run daily for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews; limited credits; no history, exports, API or support | Brands that want a look before a demo |
| Enterprise (brands) | Custom | Up to 9 answer engines, tailored prompt plan, all-time history, CSV/JSON export, API, SSO/SAML, SOC 2, unlimited seats | Brands that want to keep using it after the trial |
| Agency Growth | $99/mo + $399/mo per client workspace | 10 pitch workspaces a month; each client workspace has 100 daily prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews and 400 credits/month; 5 seats | Agencies pitching and running a few clients |
| Agency Enterprise | Custom | Tailored workspaces, API, dedicated partner support | Large agencies and networks |
The brand side: a free week, then a sales call
From Profound's own page, the Trial gives you 50 prompts run daily for 7 days. You can't customize them. You get a recommended set based on your industry. It covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, one language, one region, no ChatGPT Shopping, and Prompt Volumes limited to 5 searches. You get no data history, no exports, no API, no support and no SSO. Seats and tracked domains in Agent Analytics are unlimited.
That is an evaluation, not a working setup. A week of fixed prompts will tell you whether the interface and the data quality appeal to you. It won't tell you much about trends, because there is no history to look at.
What Enterprise includes
Enterprise is where the product actually lives. According to the pricing page it includes:
- Credits for the whole team, with the amount set by contract
- A custom prompt tracking plan, where you can edit, disable or add prompts
- Up to 9 answer engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search
- Custom languages and regions, plus ChatGPT Shopping
- Unlimited Suggestions and custom Prompt Volumes
- All-time history, CSV/JSON export and API
- SSO/SAML and SOC 2 compliance
- Support from email up to a dedicated specialist with a 24-hour SLA
There is no price. The page routes you to "Get a Demo." Maintouch, a competitor, estimates $2,000 to $5,000+ per month based on known customer contracts. A Reddit thread on r/aeo had someone saying it used to start around $1,000 per month per brand per country, with the average now probably much higher. Neither is a quote. Both suggest the same thing: budget for a negotiated contract in the low thousands per month at minimum.
What drives the quote
Two buyers can look identical on paper and get very different bills. One tracks 80 prompts in one market. Another tracks 800 prompts across 12 markets and 9 engines. Same category, completely different collection load. Before you take the call, have answers to these:
- Which brands, countries and languages do we need to track?
- How often does each prompt run, and on which engines?
- How many credits cover our research, writing and content updates?
- Which exports, integrations, security controls and support levels are included?
- What is the contract term, the renewal price and the cost of overage?
That last one matters more than it looks. Profound says credits are consumed each time an agent runs, and more complex multi-step agents use more. If you go over, the account can be set to allow overage billing or to pause usage.
The old $99 and $399 brand plans
If a review tells you Profound starts at $99 for brands, it is describing the June to mid-September version. Those plans, as reported by Maintouch, Otterly.AI and SlateHQ, looked like this:
| Starter | Growth | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $99/mo (annual billing only, $1,188/yr) | $399/mo (annual billing only, $4,788/yr) |
| Prompts | 50 | 100 |
| Engines | ChatGPT only | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews |
| Seats | 1 | 3 |
| Agent credits | 100/mo | 400/mo |
GeoToolbox reports these were gone from the brand tab by September 17 and confirmed gone on September 26 and 28. SlateHQ notes they showed up in in-app checkout rather than on the public page, which is part of why sources disagree. My read: if you see them offered to you, great, but don't plan around them. Ask in writing.
You may also run into $82.50 and $332.50 figures (billed-yearly equivalents of the old plans) or a $499 "Lite" and $1,499 Agency Growth tier from an older roundup. None of those is a current price.

The agency side: where the math scales
Agencies are the only buyers who can see a real dollar figure, and it is worth doing the arithmetic carefully.
| Agency setup | Published monthly total |
|---|---|
| Base + 1 full client workspace | $99 + $399 = $498 |
| Base + 3 full client workspaces | $99 + (3 x $399) = $1,296 |
| Base + 5 full client workspaces | $99 + (5 x $399) = $2,094 |
| Base + 10 full client workspaces | $99 + (10 x $399) = $4,089 |
The $99 base covers prospecting, not ongoing client tracking. It includes 10 pitch workspaces a month, each with 25 prompts, for prospect audits. Five more pitch workspaces are $199/month. Each paying client needs a full workspace at $399, with 100 daily prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews and 400 credits a month. There are 5 agency seats and no API on this tier.
If you are running ten accounts, you are at roughly $4,000 per month before you have added a margin. Whether that works depends on what you charge clients. Ongoing reporting needs its own budget line, and the pitch workspaces can pay for themselves if they help you win work. Agency Enterprise is custom, with a dedicated partner and premium Slack support.
Note that the figures for the agency tab come mostly from ZeroRank, Strategi and GeoToolbox. They agree with each other, and the 400 credits per client workspace is confirmed in Profound's own FAQ, but verify the dollar amounts on the agency tab itself.
Cost per prompt: a fairer comparison
Sticker price hides a lot. A $399 client workspace runs 100 prompts daily across three engines. That is roughly $4 per tracked prompt a month, or about 13 cents per daily run (about 17 cents with the $99 base for a single client). Weekly trackers look cheaper per prompt but run far less often, so compare run frequency, not just prompt counts.
The hidden cost: acting on the data
This is the part I think buyers underweight. Profound is strong at showing you where you are invisible. Maintouch argues it won't push fixes to your CMS, build backlinks or execute technical changes, and claims customers report needing an outside contractor around $2,000 a month. That figure is from a competitor and I can't verify it. But the underlying point holds for any monitoring-heavy tool: if nobody on your team owns the follow-through, you pay for insight and then pay again to use it.
Profound has been moving toward agents that research and write, which is the point of the AI Marketer repositioning. Whether those credits stretch far enough is the question to put to the sales team during the demo.
How Profound compares on price
| Tool | Entry price (reported) | Billing | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profound | Free trial; Enterprise custom; agencies $99 + $399/client | Custom | Up to 9 engines on Enterprise |
| Otterly.AI | $29/mo (Lite), $189/mo (Standard, 100 prompts) | Monthly or annual | Unlimited seats, 4 engines on every plan |
| Peec AI | Reported $95 to $495/mo (EUR 85 to 425) | Varies | Multi-language tracking |
| Promptwatch | Free Explore plan; paid from $95/mo | Monthly or annual | Tracking plus content and crawler tools |
Otterly.AI's numbers come from its own comparison page, so read them with that in mind. A quick note on the real-world gap: the old Profound Growth plan at $399 covered 100 prompts on three engines, while Otterly says its $189 Standard gives 100 prompts on four.

Where Promptwatch fits
If your main worry is paying for monitoring and then having to find a separate way to fix what it shows, Promptwatch is built around closing that loop. It starts at $95/month (Essential, 50 prompts, all models) with a free Explore tier, and the Business plan at $579/month adds the Content Agent, which plans, writes and publishes to Webflow, Framer or WordPress. It also includes IP-verified AI crawler logs and visitor analytics, which show whether AI systems are reading your pages and sending traffic. Confirm current pricing at promptwatch.com/pricing.

Is Profound worth it?
It depends on who you are.
It makes sense if you are a large brand with an analyst to run it, you need nine-engine coverage and Prompt Volumes data, and procurement requires SOC 2 and SSO. Profound raised $96 million at a $1 billion valuation in February 2026, per Fortune, and says it serves more than 1,000 enterprise brands. That is a vendor claim, but the scale is real.
It is harder to justify if you are a small team. The September change removed the cheap on-ramp, leaving a week of fixed prompts and then a sales process built for custom contracts.
For agencies, it works if you can pass the roughly $400 per client cost through to clients and you value the pitch workspaces. Model the per-workspace number, because that is what scales.
Before you pay: a short checklist
- Check tryprofound.com/pricing on the day you buy, since the page is JavaScript-rendered and cached copies go stale quickly.
- Ask for engine list, prompt count, regions and languages in writing.
- Ask what happens when credits run out: overage billing or a pause.
- Get the renewal price and contract term up front.
- Price the labor needed to act on the data, not just the license.
- Run a competitor trial on the same prompts for a week. Several rivals offer free trials, so you can compare real output instead of feature lists.
The honest summary: brands can't see Profound's price, agencies can see about $400 per client per month, and everyone should assume the real bill includes the work of using it.
